The government is interested in launching a second edition of the Production Linked Incentive Scheme for the textile industry. The PLI scheme has had a positive effect on the industry and this could soon be renewed with some new incentives, to encourage businesses and give them an aid to help keep manufacturing investments in the country. "This was the preliminary round of consultations and it is an evolving situation," said a spokesperson for the treasury, who did not wish to be identified. "Many ideas have been presented thus far, and we will continue to consider them."
